  • Novo Nordisk International Talent Program
The International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU)

Novo Nordisk International Talent Program

University of Copenhagen and the Danish medical company Novo Nordisk have developed the Novo Nordisk International Talent Program (NNITP) - a scholarship programme designed to attract international talent and to support talented students in gaining an international study experience as part of their degree programmes. The programme is an example of how universities and industry can collaborate to allow for resources, knowledge and competencies to come together to benefit both parties.

NNITP was established in 2015, and Novo Nordisk Ltd donates up to DKK 5 million annually towards the programme.

Novo Nordisk International Talent Program supports student mobility between UCPH and IARU partner universities. The programme covers a range of select academic fields pertaining to metabolism, insulin, haemoglobin, obesity, big data or digitalization.

The programme specifically supports student mobility within the areas of: Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biology, Biology-Biotechnology, Computer Science, Food Innovation and Health, Global Health, Health Informatics, Chemistry, Human Biology, Human Physiology, Human Nutrition, Immunology and Inflammation, Medicinal Chemistry, Medicine and Technology, Medicine, Molecular Biomedicine, Nanoscience, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Public Health.

Who Can Apply

Talented students who are enrolled at an IARU institution and planning to study at the University of Copenhagen at third year Bachelor's level or Master’s level as an exchange or guest student can apply for the scholarship. Talented students from University of Copenhagen going to IARU partner institutions can also apply for the scholarship.

The application deadlines are 25 October and 1 April.

Testimonials

 NNITP Testimonial

I enjoyed the group-based learning that took place in the classes. There was always time set aside to discuss ideas and opinions, which I don’t experience as much at home.

It was great to be able to have classes with other international students and Danish students. The broad range of students meant that the discussions were diverse and full of different perspectives.

I was lucky enough to have spent 4 weeks in Copenhagen, on a course led by two very enthusiastic doctors. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and I wish I had done this sort of thing sooner!

Scholarship recipient from the University of Oxford, Summer course in Internal Medicine, 2015
