UniLead: Workshop on University Leadership for PhD Students
UniLead's aims was to give high achieving PhD students who are likely to be the future leaders of universities the opportunity to become exposed to the various activities and management issues of university leadership. Successful candidates have interacted with key people from IARU institutions and were tasked to develop a leadership program for their own university. Two pilot programs – UniGo and UniLead – were held at the University of Copenhagen and the Australian National University respectively in 2010. Similar programs may be organised in IARU institutions in the future.

Transforming Power of Undergraduate Education
The Transforming Power of Undergraduate Education was a comparative study of undergraduate educational practices of IARU member institutions, leading to a richer understanding of best practices in undergraduate education for IARU members. The workgroup centred on three main topics: a) Curriculum; b) Research, Professional, Educational and Life-long Purposes of Undergraduate Education; and c) Undergraduate Learning Environments. The workshop also discussed developing joint courses, and identified e-resources for sharing – including academic integrity, academic inquiry, citations and plagiarism. The group also compiled resources to be shared with other partners:
Australian National University
ETH Zurich
National University of Singapore
University of Berkeley, California
University of Cambridge
University of Oxford
Yale University
Australian National University
University of California, Berkeley
Yale University
These are some existing e-learning courses across IARU that are open access. Areas include Academic Integrity, and Professional Standards and Ethics.

Excellence in Graduate Education
Excellence in Graduate Education was an international symposium drawing together attendees from around the world whose interests in and pursuit of excellence in graduate education is paramount. It provided both an opportunity to exchange ideas and address graduate education issues, as well as a forum for the presentation of papers on attributes of graduate education, good supervisory practice and curriculum designed with "ideal attributes" in mind.
