Continuing the good efforts from workshops on this topic in 2006 and 2008, The University of Tokyo will conduct a workshop to understand the similarities and differences regarding gender issues in higher education among IARU members, and to share on-going agendas for projects relating to gender equality in globalizing universities.

Campus Sustainability Officers meet for three days to discuss the IARU Fellowship Program, report on key sustainability efforts at partner institutions, and discuss opportunities to collaborate and expand on existing or upcoming projects.

 

Value of Research-Intensive Universities Workshop

Preceding the Meeting of IARU Presidents, pro-Vice Chancellors for research and other members will meet to discuss developments on this joint discussion and report their findings to the Presidents.  This will be the second meeting for the group.

The Global Summer Program (GSP) is an exciting learning experience that connects university students with outstanding peers from around the world.  Details will be available on 9 January.  Applications open 9 January - 2 March 2012.

 

IARU University Librarians Workshop
11 - 12 June 2012, National University of Singapore

Librarians will be meeting to network, share best practices and experiences, and explore ways they can further collaborate.  They will also discuss more about library services and the collections at each university.

 

Inaugural IARU Graduate Student Conference
28 - 30 June 2012, National University of Singapore

A forum for graduate students to exchange ideas for integrative research on global issues and Asian perspectives, including Ageing, Asian cities, Health, Life Cycle Financing, System Dynamics and Comparative Asian Studies.  This conference will be held alongside the NUS Global Asia Institute Signature conference.
